Easy and Delicious Green Smoothie recipe

A great way to jump start your healthy eating habits is with Green Smoothies. At first glance, they look pretty gross, but they're actually really good (I promise it won't taste like grass) and not to mention an easy way to get in those important veggies. They're really easy to make too, I make mine at night before bed and have that for breakfast or lunch the next day. Below is a basic recipe for the Green Smoothie newbie...

Serving Size: 1
Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients
-1 cup of raw baby spinach (Organic, if possible)
-1 cup of frozen fruits (I buy a bag of assorted frozen fruits from the frozen foods aisle)
-1 teaspoon of flax seed (found in the cereal aisle, already shredded)
-1 cup of almond or coconut milk
-1 tablespoon of your favorite protein powder* (I use BodyByVi Powder. To order click here)
-1/2 a banana

Instructions
1. Add spinach, frozen fruits, and banana to blender
2. Add flax seed, milk, and protein powder to mix
3. Blend until smooth
4. Enjoy

*I have found that chocolate protein powder does not taste very good with this mix. In my opinion, try something like vanilla or coconut flavored. Just my opinion :)
*Can be stored for up to 3 days if chilled and sealed correctly*
